Tru-Fire Broadhead Frequently Asked Questions

Q.

Will the Switchblade fly like a field tip both live and practice heads?

A.

Yes, the head flies extremely tight allowing for near perfect arrow flight.  Some consumers said they had better arrow flight from the practice heads than they did with standard field tips.

Q.

Can I pull the practice heads out of a target?

A.

Yes you can.

Q.

Can I pull the live heads out of the target?

A.

Not recommended.  Better to push the head thru the target and either pull the arrow thru the target or remove the head from the arrow.

Q.

Are the blades replaceable?

A.

No they are not but it is very easy to sharpen the blades both in the closed condition or open.

Q.

Why is the tip designed like it is?

A.

To guarantee that the head will open on contact whether it was a well placed shot on the animal or a poor placed shot.  Takes bone and other debris and pushes it away from the arrow creating less drag against the arrow.  On the entrance side, the tip stretches the hide into the hole so when blades start to cut, the hole diameter is even larger than the exit side of the animal.

Q. Do you recommend any particular quiver?
A. No.  Most quivers work great with the head and never activate the tip to open the blades.  If your blades do open in your quiver, simply leave the blades open just like a fixed head and when you pull the arrow out of the quiver to shoot, just pull the tip to simply close the blades and your ready to go.
